Please check your agenda and individual classroom for daily for individual assignments.
Homework will be given Monday-Thursday night and will consist of Language Arts and Math.Assignments are a reinforcement of skills that have been taught in the classroom and will be based on individual goals. *Please be sure to check your child’s assignment pad or Google Classroom for homework.They are responsible for writing down their homework; however I will sign their pad to indicate that they have successfully written their assignments.Here are some guidelines to assist with setting up the environment to promote a positive homework experience at home:
-Pick a specific time for homework each night.I recognize that at times schedules may not allow for the same time, however, consistency will help your child develop a good homework routine.
-Create a checklist for assignments and have your child check off each assignment as completed.
-Choose a well lit area free of distractions and have all supplies necessary to complete their work.
-Allow for breaks in between assignments as needed.
-Use positive reinforcement and encouragement during and upon completion of assignments.Verbal praise or a simple sticker chart can be utilized for reinforcement.
-Utilize a clock or timer to visually represent the passage of time.
Iwill be working closely with your child’s Homeroom Teacher to assist with the implementation and modification of any assignments given in the classroom.Study guides and assignments will be given in advance to help prepare for tests.
