In Science we are beginning a unit on animals. We will be learning about the different types of animals in the world.
We are in finishing up unit 2 for Everyday Math. Here is what is being covered:
Lesson 1- To provide practice counting up and back on a number grid.
Lesson 2- To guide exploration of the uses of numbers and to introduce the parts of telephone numbers.
Lesson 3- To guide exploration of the complements of ten and to introduce math boxes.
Lesson 4- To introduce the need of unit labels and to introduce calculators.
Lesson 5 - To introduce the analog clock.
Lesson 6- To introduce division of the day into am and pm. Also, to provide practice telling time to the hour and develop a sense of a minute.
Lesson 7- To provide experiences comparing lengths of objects and to provide practice drawing straight lines with a ruler.
Lesson 8- To introduce pennies and cents notation and to provide practice recording the number of pennies.
Lesson 9- To introduce nickels and provide practice exchanging pennies for nickels.
Lesson 10- To provide practice finding values of combinations of nickels and pennies.
Lesson 11- To introduce number models for change to more situations.
Lesson 12- To broaden the experience with extending number models to include exchange to less situations.
Lesson 13- To provide practice making up and solving number stories. Also to provide practice finding sum of three 1 digit numbers.
