The Sailing Classroom aboard the Mystic Whaler

Aboard a schooner (off the Alpine, NJ, Boat Basin), it was a calm and rainless afternoon on the Hudson River.  At times hot and muggy, a great crew of college students demonstrated sail-hoisting and cooperative efforts.  There were lessons learned about nautical knots,  life 'below board,' and phytoplankton.  Sea shanties were sung.  A great time was had by all.
