Chorus

Chorus is open to students in all grades at RAS who love to sing! At rehearsals, students learn and prepare songs of various styles to perform at their concerts in January and May.
Students who are presently in Band/Strings are also welcome to join Chorus!
Chorus Schedule*:
Monday/Wednesday will be the 3rd and 4th Grade Chorus.
Tuesday/Thursday will be the 5th and 6th Grade Chorus.
4th, 5th and 6th Grades will also have the opportunity to take chorus during recess.

Day 5 4th Grade Recess Chorus
*If school is delayed or closed Chorus will be cancelled for that day.

Beginner band is open to any student in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade that would like to learn the basics of playing a band instrument. Students receive one small group lesson per six day cycle. The full group rehearses on Friday mornings at 7:45 AM (starting in January), in preparation for their June performance.
Advanced band is a continuing group for players that have successfully completed beginner band. The advanced group rehearses on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 7:45 AM. Students continue to improve their playing skills during their group lessons. The advanced band performs in January and June.
Beginner strings are open to any student in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade that would like to learn violin, viola, cello, or string bass. These students also receive one small group lesson per six day cycle. The full group rehearses on Thursday mornings at 7:45 AM (starting in January), in preparation for their June performance.
Advanced strings is a continuing group for players that have completed the beginner strings program. This group rehearses on Tuesday mornings at 7:45 AM. These students also continue to improve their playing skills during group lessons. They also perform in January and June.
Jazz band is an auditioned group that meets after school on Tuesdays from 3:00-3:50, starting in January. Audition excerpts will be available in January. Jazz band is open to brass, saxes, piano, bass, guitar, and drum set.
